Grand Opening: Iron Smoke Distillery's World Famous Spirit Factory, Watering Room and Sideshow



It’s not everyday that work takes you into a victorian-industrial whiskey tasting room, but on May 18th Captivate Media was at Iron Smoke Distillery's World Famous Spirit Factory, Watering Room and Sideshow to capture the energy of the opening night on video.

Founded in 2012, Iron Smoke has had a prominent hold on the local and state spirit scene with their artisan crafted, small batch whiskey. Due to its popularity in New York state, the self proclaimed “purveyors of great whiskey and good times” determined it was high time to open a tasting room and distillery where people could do just that. The distillers opened the Iron Smoke World Famous Spirit Factory, Watering Room and Sideshow in Fairport and celebrated accordingly, with a kick off party with cocktails and a live band.

With cameras on hand for the opening event we were able to record the crowd and the vibe of the night, making an engaging event video that makes the viewer want to get up and join the party. 

Events are a great opportunity to capture video that connects businesses with their audiences and build a brand awareness. Recurring events in particular can benefit from video as they can be used to promote it in the following year. Event video promotion can be used in many ways to get the name out through social media as well. Even better, they had 138 shares of the video, expanding the reach to thousands more people that may not have known about the brand.  This organic reach is valuable because it is true engagement from people who have a stake in the brand and want to show it to even more people who might also take an interest. Video posts on Facebook have 135% greater organic reach than static images, making them the top driver of reach.
